why do women love shopping so much ??

That would be something for a social science study, not a YA question. Here's the thing. I would say that maybe 90% love to shop. It's hw we gather our evolutionary berries. Men love to compete. I'ts how they hunt for their meat. I mean, most men do not have to actually kill the meat and bring home the bacon, but they work to bring home the money that buys the meat and the bacon. And most women do not have to go scrounging around the forest for berries and twigs, but we do have to go grocery shopping, and make coverings or buy clothes for our kids! The thing is, we're not busy enough having to survive, so we want clothes and shoes and handbags and home furnishings, and men don't have to kill anything so they show off by making lots of money or doing lots of drugs or beating guys up, and the KIDS! well, they have to show off whose parents got them the latest everything! Anyway, we're the gatherers, that's what we do!

I don't know...why do you guys love football? Anyway when I buy something pretty I feel excited .At least for a little while.
I am sure there are things you could spend all day doing because it makes you feel good. Just like shopping does for girls.

I hardly ever have any money but when I do, I like to get some things for my self.

Shopping makes girls feel all girly. Maybe you could think of it as in a woman's eyes it is a store full of pretty. And we happen to find clothes pretty. Some guys spend just as much time in hardware stores or places like Harbor Freight. Guys just don't like clothes, jewelry, and shoes. So it is not a wonder why they don't like being in the mall. That place is highly stocked with that stuff.

I only shop when I need something, like an article of clothes, or I want something in particular. I, too, avoid it & get in, get out as quick as possible. Especially the mall during Christmas. I refuse to go there after Thanksgiving through December.

I am not one to want to shop all the time. Shoot, most of the time when I look at sales papers and stuff I don't want to bother either it's not my taste or too much outside my price range ( I'm a frugal type of shopper, like Walmart and Payless kind of frugal). I got things ( no offense to many of the girly girls because I respect my gender) that I rather do most of the time than shop or be in the mall.

But heidi brought up a good point. Why do guys like football so much ( so much heck forbid if their women want to talk during the game! ) or why do they love being in a hardware store? I'm not asking this to be insulting, just to give you something to ponder on.

I am not a shopper. Living in the mall is a good plan though, for when the zombies take over. So the next time she wants to go smile and take her, you could be the hero of the show. But don't hold her purse, Cosmo says it is belittling...you don't look like a good boy friend you look like a pushover (with shoes that don't match it)...they put hooks in the good changing rooms and she needs it for something in the restroom anyway.

I do know women who love shopping but I can't understand them. I can't understand how shopping can be a hobby. I HATE it. People assume that because I'm a girl I would enjoy shopping but I can't think of anything worse. Ugh. So boring and I get achy feet and back and there are always too many people and I can never find anything I like and I hate spending money.

not all woman like to shop. I HATE TO shop . my husband does about 90% of the shopping. i worked in a retail store for 9 years so i had my fill od busy stores and shopping. so please do not put me with all the other ladies that love to shop because i am not with that group.

I really don't know why "some" women like to shop...but I don't particularly like shopping...I like going to the store, getting what I need, and getting out of there....
