Its a 92 with the 22RE engine that runs fine and has no problems other that the idle speed will go up and down after it has warmed up. It will sit there and go vroom, vroom, vroom, on and off about every second.

Have one that has had similar problems and found out that the truck was overheating and actually trying to shut down. Check your antifreeze and also the oil for water in the oil. It will be milky looking but might not be a blown headgasket. On this model the timing chain can stretch and put a crack in the waterpump housing putting water in the oil.
Could be a problem with the intake manifold leaking and sucking air when not supposed to.
Also the fuel filter can be partially clogged up letting in small amounts of fuel at a time.
Mine is currently wrecked in my yard. Let me know what the outcome is so we can stay informed . thanx Gene

If it is not stalling once you place it in kit, that sounds approximately best. In kit, my automobile idles approximately 500 rpm often, as quickly because it reaches working temperature. have you ever had the battery disconnected? That mucks up the computing device each so often and it could take about a minutes to reset. each automobile I surely have ever owned has idled someplace around that mark. The older automobiles with carburetors that i'd desire to swap, I used to set the unbiased idling as low because it may stay working, around 4 hundred. except you're surely effective your automobile is meant to idle at 750 for some reason, and that's working poorly or utilising a good style of gas, i would not touch something.
