So, aright im 35 weeks pregnant with my 3rd daughter. this will be the first birth my husband will be able to attend due to military. so we are very excited. this pregnancy has been very different than my last 2. low more pain and discomforts. my first question is do you tend to have your babies earlier the more you have? my other 2 were induced at 37 weeks. 2nd) i went for my first walk in a long long time yesterday and today it feels like i have alot of pain and pressure in my low low abdomin. almost in the cervical area. im already 1cm and 30% and -3 station. but thats been that way for 1 month now. 3) how can i get my body to dialate more? i dont oviously want to go into labor right now but it would be nice if when i have to that i only would have like 5 or 6 to go not 9. lol 4) my last 2 kids were epidural babies. but i have degenerative disk disease so i am not able to get an epidural without alot of pain. so this one will be batural and im scared. any advice or tips for me?

they say that wil each kid you have they will come faster and faster but that is what they say it does not mean it is always true, there are many cases where #5 could take 15 hours more then #2 did, its all up to your body. as far as the walk it was very good for you and the baby but gravity has worked some magic and that is why u feel the pressure down there, if it is a lot of pain then you should go see your doctor otherwise you should be fine. as far as making yourself dialate if you ever find out how to do it you will be rich lol sorry but theres really no sure way to make it happen, keep walking when you feel like it and thats the best you can do... with the epidural i as so sorry for you i really dont know what to say about that one because personally i had one with 2 out of 3 of my kids and the only reason i didnt get one with my second child is because i was only 25 weeks and he just flew out, and i plan on getting one with the child i'm carrying now, the best i can say is really try to focus as you know 10 mins after the baby comes you dont feel or care about that pain, there are other meds you can take if it gets to bad but you will have to talk them over with your doc to know whats good for you.... Good Luck and sorry i could not be of more help

I'm also pregnant with my third, but I'm 10 weeks :(
All I think I can say is, each pregnancy and delivery is different so whether it will be longer, shorter, earlier, harder, easier is anyone guess. You won't know until the time comes.
As for epidural, i have had two births without it and I did just fine! As do thousands of other mums around the world all the time.
Don't worry about not having an epidural. Granted it may come as a bit of a shock with the pain and all but there are ways to manage it like
hot heat packs, hot showers, baths, pethedine (i love pethedine!!!!), gas and air, tens machine...
You won't be able to make your body dilate but by staying active and having sex with hubby (the semem has oxcytocin which you prolly know all about....) you might be able to help things along. Baby will come when she is good and ready and not a second earlier. Subsequent babies do not necessarily come earlier. Its all up to chance.
best of luck and try and relax. The birth will be fine and not having an epi is not the end of the world. You are going to feel so empowered after this birth!!
Good luck

I will not tell a lie natural births hurt without epidural (although I never had one) there are other pain reliefs you can use such as gas (which tastes like cardboard and sometimes makes you feel sick afterward) it works trust me i used it with my three babies. the trick with gas is to only inhale on contractions and only use it when the pain get realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bad. the other thing I used while in the first and second stages of lbaour was heat packs on back. my husband would put a heat pack on my lower back and massfae it felt really good.
I am not sure how to make your body dialte more sorry
also tell your husband that you want him to help as much as possible. with my first my hubby held the hot shower tap on back and just kept rubbing my back. my second one I bit his fingers every time I felt a contraction and the third one I just squeezed his fingers to death I think I cut of the circulation to his hand at one stage (LOL).
also listen to your midwife and if you do have to a c section due to medical reasons that no big deal either better to have a healthy baby than not know whats happening.
hope that helps and good luck.

ok well heres what you do, take a nice warm bath with your hubby and have him massage your back, then try some nipple stimulation. when you get out go to the bed room and have rough sex and leave then semen infor at least 10-15 minutes this will help your cervix dialate! also what i had to do for the dialation as i wasnt dialating past 1 . my dr told me to go to walgreens or walmart and buy these pills called evening primrose and place 4 in the vagina and put on a pad and lay down for like 30minutes to an hour and you can do this up to 3 times a day but make sure the pills are as far up as you can go this wasy it gets on the cervix! it will usually help in 1-2 days! not nessicarily sned you into labor but will help the dialation!!

Wow honey, that's alot of info..haha..Ok lets see, First of all, No usually you will follow your previous experiences with induction, I was induced with all 4 of mine. Next, If you hadn't walked in a while, that is completely normal to feel that pressure. I would keep up the walking, but not long distances, maybe 1/4 mile at the most. Walking is always helpful to speed up dilation. As far as the epidural goes, those are HORRIBLE>>OUCH, and especially in your circumstance, I would avoid it at all costs. Good Luck to you and PLEASE tell your husband THANK YOU for all he does. Thank God for our Military. I hope I was helpful...

I could name the physician's workplace and give an explanation for what you're feeling. They might wish to verify you, simply to be at the secure aspect. At 34 weeks, they could nonetheless attempt to quit hard work. Make definite you drink tons of water on account that you'll have cramping and contractions as a result of dehydration. Best of success to you.
