A leader is someone who leads strongly, but isn't bossy. Someone who is admirable but not superior. Someone who gets the job done, but doesn't rush. A leader needs to be someone you can relate to and understand, but someone you're far enough from to take them seriously. Your friends don't make good leaders because you know them to well, you know how they think and you don't take them seriously enough in times like that. But a good leader needs to understand the people he/she is leading.

A leader gains respect just the way a regular person does. Act appropriately, don't be foolish, treat everyone as equals.

Don't use stand over tactics to get the job done. Appear like you are a regular everyday person, the average Joe but will some class. You can always relate to a good leader.

Hope this helped. (:

To put it bluntly leadership is having the charisma to "con" another into doing what the leader wills. They are successful if the persons they lead still have or can be induced to have, the childlike instinct to imitate otherwise they often lead by forcing their will on their subordinates.

Every parent is a leader, like it or not, and fulfills the child's instinctual need to imitate by, often unwittingly, setting an example. This job as a parental leader is probably the most important single job in the human repertoire of skills and is done by those usually just past childhood without any real formal training.

Good luck "conning" your subordinates into doing your will, good mental health, peace and Love!

Well sorry if you may not like the military but I'm a leader in the military. SSG, platoon Sgt. My troops love me from all other leaders within our unit because I get things done with them. I get dirty with them, If they fail this means I failed as a leader. Nothing gets done or imposed on anyone if I have not done it myself or willing to do it again. I must and have to be proud of my guys for trying with failure because that becomes the root of success. A leader may not always get positive results because all minds and bodies perform differently and that's a characteristic of a leader, being able to compensate. A leader may not be respected, but leading is about teaching, guiding and learning with his people. Productivity may not be attained at full power, but that's why the human mind gives us the will and want to surpass our mistakes and lessons.... I hope that wasn't too redundant but that's what i have seen in my self and what I've been told others see in me. Hope that helps.

to be a good leader, there are many qualities that you need to have. First off, you need to be good and experienced at what you are doing. Also, you need to respect the people you are leading, and at times, loosen things up a little with a joke. If you can earn the respect of your people, your job as leader will become much easier for you and you will be able to be a good leader in no time. Good Luck!

a true leader puts himself last and his peolpe first, he gives absolutely everything because he is last and his people are first.

to banish skill and discard profit is how leaderships goal was once defined, these days we cultivate skills and worship profits - these things that were once considered the absolute evils of a society are now running ours - how ironic and how far we have come from a simple life.

they'll have made our children desease free by design and be cloning us before we can ever see what effects that will ultimatley have, they'll infect our crops with Gm modified properties so there are no non GM foods grown on the planet before they even knw what effect that will have, they put us last and use as test subjects when at the same time they feign respect by bans on animal testing for example.

there's not one governmental leader in the world who is preparing a way to improve his society, even the leaders with goodness in theri heart are stuck in the mould of trying to battle troubles rather than leading by example and putting the people first.

they could do a lot worse than folowing the tao te ching these world leaders - they shuold at least be aware of it

Guiding or directing a group of people. Can't tell you how to become more productive w/o knowing your job. Respect by not taking any crap but not being too much of an ***. Positive results will come from the latter. Respect is earned. It goes both ways.

The Tao De Ching by Lao Tzu, chapter 11, says that the best leader is one that is hardly noticed, and when the task is done, the people say "We have done it ourselves." The next is one who is loved and adored. The worst is one who is feared. I feel the best leadership quality is being able to quietly direct, with the ones doing the task getting the credit. peace
