I go with my Mum Kids and sister every year to the Christingle Service - it really is a lovely service.
The orange represents the world, the candle represents Christ - the light of the World, the red band round it the blood of Christ, the 4 cocktail sticks represent the four corners of the world and the fruit/sweets represent the fruits of the world. We give a donation to the NSPCC when we get our Christingle then we all walk round the Church and sing Carols - it's a great service!

I've only been to a school Christingle.Children re-told the xmas story, lots of christmas songs and carols,to join in with.At the end of the service the year 3 lined up with an orange, which had 4 cocktails sticks of dolly mixtures and a candle in the middle. And the year 6 kids light the candles.
Its a lovely service, even for a non beliver like me!
My daughter was worried her hair might catch alight,so we make sure it was well clipped back !!
