Look up my answer to the subsequent question, "Define a leader?" posted by honey. It is because the people have not gotten over their childlike need for a charismatic person to imitate.
The definition of "demented" is crazy. That means mentally disordered. Who can really say they are normal? I asked a psychologist the definition of normal once and he refused to answer. It seems to mean average, regular or standard and yet we pick our leaders for their outstanding qualities, not average ones. That is how Hitler and Muhammad got into power by being outstanding to those who let them lead.

I don't think Mohamad is a demented person, maybe Hitler does :) it's they're own choice not ours.

Because they are sheep. They can't think for their self and afraid to be different from the pack.
