... your thoughts on introducing Twenty20 style free hits into ODIs?

Personally I like it as it will not only make the bowlers cut down on no-balls, but also puts everyone on the edge of their seat, at least, for one delivery

Yeah it spices the game up especially if its a dull passage of play. Plus the bowlers have to be really careful of their run up and the batsmen should be smart enough to make full use of the free hit.

The free hit rule has been introduced in ODI also on experimental basis and the first ODI with the free hit
rule was between India and Australia at Bangalore.

A. As it is now, ODI cricket already has its dice heavily loaded in favour of batsmen - now that T20 is poised to become the inevitable future, what we don't need is more of these one-sided rules. I think free-hit concept is not welcome at all.

This new rule would leave the bowlers at the mercy of the batsmen and that’s just not good for the game.

I still enjoy Test Cricket much more than any other format. Where are they going to stop in the process of ruining the most elegant sport on Earth?

lmao just Australia vs New Zealand, and Symonds got a no ball, didnt want to run because he wanted the free hit, but Punter was already down his end. I like this rule, CA has implemented it in the Ford Ranger Cup for years now.
