America has the highest pollution standards in the world. It's the rest of the world that refuses to go green.

I think the world is in much greater danger from terrorism, thousands of people dying worldwide each year. Lets get a handle on the terrorists, then maybe we can focus on the environment!

In the long run it could be.
You can argue and quibble about the details of global warming and pollution, but to do absolutely nothing is unacceptable!
It is very obvious that we all need to do our best to control toxins and pollutions released into nature.
There is a huge smear and misinformation campaign on the part of wealthy industrialists (and the politicians in their pocket) to keep their profits as high as possible by being able to dump as much crap as they want anywhere, with no regard for public safety. Your children and grandchildren will pay the price, maybe with their lives!
Don't believe them - people lie when billions of dollars are at stake! (trillions actually).

The Kyoto treaty was agreed upon in late 1997 and countries started signing and ratifying it in 1998. A list of countries and their carbon dioxide emissions due to consumption of fossil fuels is available from the U.S. government. If we look at that data and compare 2004 (latest year for which data is available) to 1997 (last year before the Kyoto treaty was signed), we find the following.
* Emissions worldwide increased 18.0%.
* Emissions from countries that signed the treaty increased 21.1%.
* Emissions from non-signers increased 10.0%.
* Emissions from the U.S. increased 6.6%.

No but with China opening one new coal fired power plant per two days we should worry that the price of electric will be climbing drastically soon.

No.
But our jobs and cost of living are endangered by the "Global Warming Caused By Man Hoax."
If Al Gore really believed in Global Warming, he wouldn't be paying $1,200 a month just to heat and cool his mansion.
And he wouldn't be flying in his Private Jets everyday.
