yes it snows almost every year here in the seattle area. How much it snows really varies and when it falls really varies. I have seen everything from years with just a light dusting to heavy snow of several feet that shuts everything down.
It usually doesn't stay around long and having a white christmas is not a guarentee. Regardless of that Seattle really is a great place to live

It does snow in Seattle, however, usually not a lot until January or February and just for a couple days. You will most likely not have a white christmas, i've lived here for 10 years and it has never snowed on christmas, I think it would be amazing though! We usually get from 1inch-3ft. Its different every time! Dont let that get you down though! Seattle is a great place to live! We have snow in the mountains only about 30 minutes away! Hope this helps!

It does snow, yes, usually several times every winter; but rarely in large amounts. Last winter was an exception, and we do occasionally get snows like that... but usually they're just light dustings that melt away within a few days or less. Western Washington as a whole is pretty mild and doesn't see the same kind of snow you'd see in places like Wisconsin or Minnesota or upstate New York. That said, there are places in Western Washington that get more snow than Seattle--Blaine, Woodinville, and Enumclaw are a few random examples. When we DO get snow, however--and in any amount, even a flake--people here lose their minds. Many people who live in the Seattle area have moved from places that never see snow and they have never learned to drive in it, and they go crazy even at the rumor of snow. It doesn't help that the city does a poor job of plowing/salting the streets when it does snow, either. They learned absolutely nothing after the storms of last winter. If you know how to drive in the snow, you'll be okay, as long as you also are good at dodging other idiots on the road who probably can't even drive in the best conditions anyway. Also look out for arrogant morons cruising around in trucks and SUV's who are convinced they can handle ice better than cars (they can't).

It snows a little most years, but not every year.
You get very little accumulation though, most of it melts within 24 hours. There have been some years we get so much snow that it sticks around a while, and when it does, traffic usually goes haywire.
If you are expecting the white Christmas of the upper mid-west or north-east United States, I would not count on it in Seattle.
That said, the snow on the mountains, visible to the east, south and north of us, and the beautifully lit downtown area, make this a spectacular place to enjoy the holiday.
