You can still be nice and confident.
If you are nice to people, then people will generally be nice to you. And if not then they aren't worth knowing.

If nice guys finish last, why am I happily married to a beautiful woman and still going strong after 17yrs? It's nonsense. Yeah, I'll concede that the players and the confident ones make quicker headway, but it's usually with a player from the other side doing exactly what they're doing.
Nice guys don't finish last, they just let the trash get out of the way before snagging the nice girl!

I have got to be truthful even at the expense of upsetting people. Nice people are boring. Being nice is not an asset. We all like nice people but we don't want there company. A person must have character to make them interesting weather it's good or bad. It is a sad fact.

Nice guys don't necessarily finish last - doormats finish last. There's a difference between being nice and letting people walk all over you and being so selfless that it harms yourself.
If you're nice to people and help them out then they're more likely to be nice to you and help YOU - I would be far less inclined to be nice to a grouchy arrogant self serving narcissist.

That is great that you like to be nice. But be nice because you
really are nice, rather than to please other people. Because you will resent other people if your intentions are not completely from the heart. Be assertive and be real and if that still means you are nice-then that is a good thing.
Nice guys do sometimes get walked over,nice girls do too. But don't let that change who you are. Coz nice guys are great!!

Being nice will get you a lot further in life, and the world needs more guys like you. Be proud of who you are and dont let anyone else get you down. Theres too many boof heads out there already.

"Nice" guys are genrally the ones that your friends with, once you've had a relationship with them, then thats when they're not so nice! Then you get the guys who, like you say - seem to come out on top all the time, who are just as cocky and confident, but they are never nice to you....so no, it makes no diffrence as to wether you think your "a nice guy" or your a cocky fella, your all nasty! Harsh i no! Though I think alot of ladies would agree with me on that score, Sorry mate!

Nice guys finish last in this life, the material world but there is a life that comes after this , which is eternal and those who have lived properly and are deemed righteous will prosper there.
Your choice is which do you choose, the here and now, which is quickly passing or the eternal?
