In the U.S., at the age of 17, you can join the military and kill / die for your country.
If you are old enough to do those things I think you should be able to have a beer while you are doing them.

There is a drinking age.
I think if you are going to drink you are going to drink regardless of the age limits.
All people are saying is drink responsibly.
How responsible were you when you were younger?
I was very responsible and still I drank like a fish.
Alcohol has effects on you r organs down the line.
I don't think if I had it to do over again I would have drank so much if at all.
So, I say leave the age where it is and just expect minors will be drinking regardless.

I don't think it would be such a great thing if they did lower it as in the UK, where this section of Y!A IS, it's already 18...So I don't think they should lower it unless your a little girl about 15 wanting to be able to drink "legally"

is this the U.S. drinking age?
i think if you're considered responsible enough to drive a car, go to war, and legally be an adult by the time you're 18, then i see no reason why you cant drink alcohol.
although, i bet the US has less drink-driving accidents, as people have already been driving for about 5 years before they can drink, whereas in England you've only been driving for about 6 months.
i heart being 18 and legal.

whoa whoa whoa wait a minute do you see and watch TV. I hate to see all the Celebrity both man and woman drink too much and end up on TV. they don't know that they are lot of people who watch them and want to be like them or they don't know that they are some role model for today young girls and boys well than I will trying to make and increase drinking age to 25 years old instead of 21. that will make America safe and we don't have to see those awful celebrities on TV.

Sure, lets lower the drinking age so that teenagers, whom don't have the best judgement (due to age, nothing more) can drink a substance that would impair what little judgement they do have? Yea, millions of teen alkies running around!!!

Fighting in war actually has NOTHING to do with how your brain develops. It is still maturing at that age. It does not mean however that you are unable to defend your country. So, that sounds nice and all, but it doesnt work, sorry.

I think if you are old enough to be shipped off to war and old enough to move out on your own then you are for sure old enough to drink! So if they want to make the age 18 to move out on your own then everything else should be 18 also.
