My 17 yr old daughter who is a lying, manipulative, deceitful person hell bent on making me to be hated by everyone just because I ask her to put away groceries and pick up fruit that fell off the tree. I am such a slave driver! Oh, I guess I also left a fork on the counter for 2 days (she doesn't say anything about my husbands car parts on the table for a month) Now my mother-in-law won't talk to me, I am hurt beyond words and it's scabbing over into hate, and I can't figure out if/what I should get that kid for Christmas or even show up at my in-laws house. BTW that mother-in-law took the kid away from the "real" mom when the girl was two and then dropped her off at my house threatening to turn her over to the state if I didn't take her. I've tried hard and changed my life over the past 15 years to give that kid a better home than I ever had. OOOOOOOh I'm pissed. To top it off the MIL wants us to pay her for the kid to live there. Well, you asked. Thanks, this is cheaper than therapy :-)
