Yes

A president is just another lying, self serving politician who is in it for the fame, glory and wage packet. The only advantage is that they can be voted out - but will likely be replaced by just another such crook.

A monarch is born and bred to do the job of serving their country. They do it from the cradle to the grave. They are not political in any way. They already have status and wealth so are not trying to gain it.

And for those who say that a monarch cannot be removed from power - yes they can - look at what happened to Charles I!

There isn`t any democracy in a monarchy. However if we had an elected head of state it would probably be just as expensive and the Queen has taken her duties very seriously and carried them out professionally.
Look at the situation in London, the elected Mayor. This has added at least £300 to the average council tax bill, Ken Livingstone wastes millions every year on advertising his intentions and i don`t mean a couple of million, it`s estimated at over £100 million. He gave jobs to several of his buddies (without them being advertised) at over £100,000 a year. Livingsone`s staff cost over £60 million a year.
On reflection, do we want another elected body as head of state to bleed the taxpayers dry or should we stick with the devil we know (sorry if that sounds disrespectful to HRH)

The best way to figure that out is to make clear what these words mean.
Monarchy means rule of one (Mono)
Democracy means rule of many (Demo)
Pure democracy only exist in very small town, where all the citizens gather and decide what to do. What we have is representative democracy,in wicth people elects representatives who passes laws that govern us.
It is not a perfect system but it gives us the faculty of dumping the people we dont'like and elect some other yo-yo.
You cant'do that in a monarchy.

Each country needs a head of State. Having a monarch without political power such as in the UK is an ideal focus for a nation. There is no risk of corruption as there is with an elected head of state. Look at France with Chirac and the USA with Nixon. If you look at our own political leaders over the last 20 years which one was as dedicated to their office as the Queen is to her nation and dont tell me Tony Blair who as our political leader sucked up to a foreign power and kissed there *** by following them into an illegal war. If you think a republic is better than a monarchy in the UK give me a list of names of uncorruptable people with the right qualifications to be head of state. I suppose we will have a list of celebs and sports stars...do me a favour.

A democracy by definition is from the votes of the people.

A monarchy is hereditory.

Therefor a monarchy cannot be deomcratic as it hasn't been voted for.

A good monarchy may well be a good way to govern (if that is actually what you mean), but it is not a good system as if that person has bad ideas and does things badly, they is no opportunity to vote them out. Also, theri succesor (child) may be a very bad leader and the people would have no say.

Democracy has its problems, but its the best solution.

i would trust the Royal family to stand true to the country. and there for to stand true to its people. you wont find the queen selling honers like a cheap second hand car dealer. and the Royal family are not self serving crooks. the vast majority of MPs are. i think the time is long!! over due for the people of Britain to throw out government.....the corruption is at an unbelievable level. ( its almost sic.) most anti royals are missing the point THAT!! there is true loyalty for the British people within the Royal family. MPs have no loyalty to any one or any thing other that them selves and the power and money that is available from their position within government.

Like leadership by examples?
How?
When they were not even aware of their own identity?
Ever wonder how the children expose it in trying to get rid of them.
Without being aware from where did they all come from.
With their regal crown and landmarks out there.
The misery can only be trace with the missing key that was lost with time.
Can we blame them for the mess created back in the past without being aware of it?
Luke 10.24
What do you think?

Monarchy isn't democratic. Monarchy is hereditory and no voting goes on whatsoever.

A dictatorship is the best form of government as nobody can argue with it, or twist it to serve their OWN ends, but only if the dictator is entirely selfless and acts on the interest of their people - which no human dictator ever could be - which is why we make do with democracy.

If the king is a very good person, and local voting is allowed, there are some advantages to it. For instance, things that need to get done quickly don't get tied up in congress. On the other hand, who's to say how the next king will be chosen after he dies, and if it's his oldest son, who's to say whether or not he will be wicked and foolish?

I think the monarchy is totally irrelevant in today's world, the world has moved on from Kings, Queens and castle's. Democracy can only be achieved by a democratically elected Government !! :)
