yes, but America has actually been in relative decline since the Eisenhower era, but the process certainly seems to be accelerating greatly.
The fact is the world may be looking at huge downturn , the story the media isn't covering is the collapse in the derivatives market , which has left many of world's major commercial banks effectively bankrupt and running to their central banks for help.
The US national debt the, decline in the Dollar and it been off loaded en masse by the world's treasuries can only add to the woes. The War Party has a lot to answer for.

Isn't this what happened to the Soviet Union?
It was the perfect plan on the part of Bin Laden. Kill a bunch of people, but more importantly terrorize the US into thinking that the military is the most important thing to think about. Billions of dollars go into military while the rest of the country loses funding. Our kids are going uneducated and undereducated, health care is declining, federal aid is disappearing and all the this is pushing more people into the military. In the end, we might have to wait on long lines for rationed toilet paper, but no terrorists will ever step on an American plane again dammit!
I think if we don't get some leadership that can see the forest through the trees, it's definatly going to be headed in that direction. And if Canada wanted to be pricks, they might start talking about putting up walls and fences to keep the US illegals from crossing the border for a better life.

This is the new trend in economy.
Globalisation may be cited as one of the reason.
The standard of living and attitude of people in money transaction is drastically changed.
The rate of growth achieved in the third world countries and balance of payment in import and export is another reason.
These indications are not going to show that the super power status of U SA is declining.
The political superiority of U S A will continue as long it remains as one of the major capitalist block in the world.
Its influence in the middle east and other countries far and near supports for strength of power .
There are some other hidden reasons of international economic conditions also.

I remember people saying that in the 80's when Germany and Japan were surpassing the US. I say wait and see. Both countries are brinking on the edge of civil meltdown as the people at the top are not sharing the wealth with wages and healthy working conditions with those that work for them. Think of our 1910's and 20s.

The dollar falling is bad but that doesent mean the end is near one that means a depression we have survived one of those and we could do it again. Two we can fix the problems as long as we actually do it insted of trying quick easy fixes.
