I like to be silent....
The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention…. A loving silence often has far more power to heal and to connect than the most well-intentioned words.
Silence is more musical than any song.
Silence is one of the hardest arguments to refute.
The most profound statements are often said in silence.
Silence is one of the great arts of conversation.
In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
Have a great day :-)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...a lovely question for deeper contemplation. In the world of duality, it seems we seek understanding and, perhaps, affirmation. Discourse "appears" to bring both. We are spoons stirring one another's pots, so to speak--some are still, some simmer, some are boiling, and some have had the good fortune to evaporate into the silence you suggest. I know that I "speak," having much to say, because I am impulsed to do so. But your point is well taken, and I thank you for giving this observation for me to become aware of. Blessings. I am Sirius
Edit: I just read your profile & see that you are a musician (guitar). Don't you think music is a method of speaking also? Doesn't it well up from your center? All artisans experience this strong impulse to "express." Perhaps "speaking" is a lesser form of "ex-pressing" (pressing out that which is within). Peace to you... still Sirius

I like to be silent...
But some people make me speak, sometimes I speak to entertain others, but now I have realized that one should speak only when needed and not to entertain others.

Because God gave me vocal cords. How else would one utter AUM? Because there was first the word, and the word sounds better spoken. You are obviously not a poet. Sound is an harmony I am utterly grateful to receive and when my husband phones me when he is away my voice blesses his ears and his heart. Silence is my mind. Voice is my body's gift. Why do you write? Why can't you just be inanimate?!

Only the trees are silent you ever notice how noisy it gets in your head even when no one is talking. It is impossible to be human and not talk or think constantly even your mind constantly is broadcasting thoughts. Even when your sleeping so nope we are a noisy bunch of creatures.

I love being quiet. I wonder why people like to talk so much, too. I don't understand the urge to communicate verbally all the time.
