If gun control stops violence then please answer this question for me. Why are people still killed with handguns in Washington DC, Chicago and San Francisco? Those cities have banned handguns yet somehow, those damn criminals just won't obey the law.

Why don't we just ban violence?

First, "shootings in Canada"? Dude, this is America!! Same goes to th Australia response. And as far as gang shootings go, taking away guns will not stop gang violence. To be in a gang, in America at least, is a way of life. They fight for a street like a soldier fights for his country. If you take away the right to own guns, then there would be "gun runnin." Just as there was whiskey runs during the prohibition. And if guns were gone all together, then fights would still break out. violence would seem more deliberate. killings would be forced to get more creative.

I understand the thought of ending violence. but it's human nature. We all think differently, and we have different values. taking away guns won't change anything.

I, as a liberal will say, hand on my heart, no. it won't supply up gun violence interior the US. not something ever will. besides the undeniable fact that gun administration might actual decrease it, assuming it fairly is being utilized right. To ever attempt to offer up a criminal offense is a waste of time and components. i think of the appropriate factor could be an boost in taxes to significant companies and persons with a undeniable intense income, and deliver it to the police. they are able to then use those extra advantageous money to clamp down on gangs. the main important reason your "regulation abiding" citizen feels they like a gun is by using the fact they are frightened of gangs bursting via their door. decrease gang numbers, human beings identifying to purchase weapons decreases, much less weapons for psychos to arise with. income. Come on united statesa., if something of the 1st worldwide can do it, you may additionally.

Clarify what you mean by gun control? Perhaps Kenashaw, Georgia where head of houshold is required to have gun, ammo, and know how to use it? Keneshaw noted to have crime rate about 30% to 1/2 lower than surrounding area. Perhaps Switzerland with 10% of militia members 22-35 carrying their automatic rifles on the streets going to work? 1/2 their homicide rate is from outsiders- 'criminal tourists'. Perhaps you're trying to say -'unilateral personal disarmament' by government? Perhaps you meant florida sherrif who first had about 5000 women trained to carry pistols and has 1/3 the rape rate of other counties? Please clarify.

No, but it would stop those people who suddenly made up a plan to shoot somebody, if they couldn`t just go to a shop and buy a gun. It would probably also stop people with mental problems if they `couldn`t just draw a gun from their pockets. It would most certainly stop many children from finding guns in their house and kill their friends and/or siblings.

Does a pencil cause misspelled words?
Does a match cause forest fires?
Does a knife cause stab wounds and kill?
Do boots stomp people to death?
Does water cause drowning?

Gun control only benefits the criminal

Yes, ever heard of Canada. And not completely of course. Guns are so easily accessible in America its not even funny. Gangs are formed around violence and guns, without them gang violence wouldn't be as big of a problem.
