It depends if you are working in a public and private company. Like me im employed and regular employee in a private company where im having a benefits of health card, rice, increase of salary, death insurance and vacation/sick leave with pay. Also, its all depend of which company are u in. Some of them are giving away alot of benefits and i can say that having a permanent job is good than being a contractual employee because u get less of it and limited month of time.

Hi Luzy,

At the minimum, a permanent employee in the Philippines should get the law-mandated benefits which include 13th month-pay, health insurance thru Pag-Ibig and also availment of certain loans like housing from SSS and Pag-ibig. This, of course, assumes that the company is operating above board - meaning it follows the labor laws in the Phils.

However, the benefits vary if you work in the public or private sector. The private sector enjoys benefits far beyond what the government can provide. Depending on the company and your position in the company, you can get car plan, allowances (gas, grocery, uniform) on top of your basic salary, housing loan at concessional rates, more bonuses, superior hospitalization and health insurance to you as employee and to your dependents and a retirement benefit than can last for the rest of your life i.e., if you live a simple life.

Hope this helps.
