Aside from the obvious (having to pay), it's rude people who ruin shopping.

1) The pusher/shover: Can't be bothered to say pardon me if you're in their way and not so much as a sorry if they trod on/run over your foot.

2) They'll fix it at the checkout: Can't be bothered to have a person on the floor fix something before they go pay. They could have easily sorted out sorted out an item that was missing a barcode or a dispute in price by asking for help BEFORE they went to pay.

3) The insensitive check writer: They know what store they are in and that they have a basket ful of items, but they wait until the sale is totaled to START filling in their check. They don't know the date. They have to ask the total 3 times and they couldn't have filled out everything but the amount before they got in the que.

4) The worn out bank card user: Can't be bothered to call the bank to have a new card sent. Would rather blame the cashier and say the card "works everyplace else" even though the strip is worn through to the white plastic. They pick the longest que, knowing they will have to have their card processed manually.

5) The I'm on your system, I didn't bring in my ID: Check ID is at random and everyone knows this, but they still leave their license in the car, holding up the cue. A cashier can't suspend a transaction once they attempt a tender.

6) The Oh, I forgot one thing: They run off and leave the que at a standstill.

Oh, by the way, if you're one of these people who like to hold up ques, you are not only being rude to the people behind you, but you are causing harm to the cashier. All but the smallest of shops keep track of items scanned per hour, transactions per hour and items per transaction.

The cost, the que's, the tragic music blasting from shop, the arrogant shop assistants with no basic understanding of Customer Service... ;0)

Hunting for the right thing and then finding that you cannot find it because it is out of stock and they have not put a notice on the shelf. The paying where you mentally tot up your daily spend and realise that you are over budget.
Happy and blessed Christmas to you.

Carrying everything, especially while buying large children's presents. The number of times I have gone to Argos with my list, and then struggled out of the shop with all the boxes.

I try to take my Partner whenever possible, then he pays, he carries and I shop.... Perfect!!

•Someone in front of you in line writing a check for $4.37 of stuff
•Out of control kids running amok in the store
•The store is out if the item you are looking for
•You buy an item & then it goes on sale 2 days later
•You're next in line & the cashier turns on their blinking light & needs to get the manager
•Out of all 200 shopping carts, you pick the only one that has a loose rattling wheel

Nothing is ever in your size, and when you ask the assistant for one in your size she makes you feel guilty for not being a size 8.
Being accosted by market researchers - no, I don't want to tell them what brand of washing powder I use!!!
The nosy old lady behind you staring at what you've bought with X ray eyes on the till.

What the internet is a joy for, making sure you are getting the best price without legwork! Nothing worse than buying something only to go somewhere else and see it cheaper!

At this time of year? The crowds. Tis the season to be jolly apparently - but in the supermarket it's madness.

Madness? THIS IS ASDAAAAAAAAA!

(sorry, just been watching "300" last night)
