I am 35weeks with my first and my mum told me it looks like I have dropped abit.

you don't usually drop from high to all the way down in one go. It sometimes takes a while for the baby to wiggle down into the right position in the birth canal with its head pushing on the cervix. From now on though you will probably start to 'efface' or 'thin out' which is when the cervix starts to get thinner and move out of the way to allow the baby to come down and for you to start dilating. This usually takes a few weeks to occur. Once in labour, once the midwife can't feel the cervix anymore you are said to be fully dilated and 100% effaced.

best of luck. Once the baby has fully dropped you will notice because of the extra room between your breasts and top of stomach and the ability to breathe is better.

It is absolutely possible to look lower and feel extra pressure at this stage. You are practically at the end of the stretch. The baby is getting in position to come down the birth canal. You might be feeling a greater need to pee (or otherwise!) and everything will become more difficult. Just think of it as almost over..You made it this far...YOU'RE A ROCKSTAR!!

That is about the right time actually between 35 and 37 weeks the baby is just getting in to possition its nothing to be concerned about and as the baby gets in to possition you should start feeling a little more confortable...no more baby stuffed in your ribs. Your bladder is likly to become a little more stressed though

over the weeks leading up to your baby being born, your baby will start making its way down and start to get the head engaged ready for the baby to go down the birth canal.so that is where you see your belly drop ,

It just means the baby is moving into position, you should be fine. Don't panic just yet.
