In today's society, people are so greedy when it comes to Christmas. It's about spending time with the ones you love. Plain and simple. I hear so many people talking about what they want, how they get crappy presents, how they make detailed lists.... blah blah blah. It sickens me. Have we really sunken this low? If this crap is really what Christmas is all about, why not save your money and time and just go buy yourself what you REALLY want? We're not kids anymore, yet we still seem to act like them. Anyone with me on this one?

Not only is Christmas a money maker for people now, but it is not even the same fun holiday it used to be...actually, Christmas was dirived from a pagan sun god's birthday, not Christs Birthday, but it is celebrated year round, by millions world wide, to remember the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ...In actuallity, how wonderful would it be if we treated each other the way we are supposed to be feeling, year round..the giving, the loving, the sharing and caring, all in the name of Jesus, which is how I do it...all year round. So you see, they say Christ wasn't born on that day anyway, but when shepards were tending their sheep, probably in Sept., not Dec..in the snow. Bottom line? If you are going to give in the name of Christ JESUS, do it every day, all the time, not once a year with trees and gifts because you have to...do it from your heart to please Him...and as far as the holiday?..so many people have ruined it now for kids..remember all of you golden oldies out there, how nice it was, how we made gifts for each other, got to go to the Christmas play,..loved the lights, and looked forward to Santa when we were little? Every year, we hoped we'd been good enough to get a gift...the holiday tree now replaces the Christmas tree, God forbid, that we put Christ in the name anymore..Anyway,..Christmas has been commercialized for years now, big business, and sorry to say this, makes lots of money for those who reject Christ Jesus the most...

This year I am a Fresher at Uni and I was panicking until I read an answer here My family are going to benefit from my time and my prescence at home (currently I am 2 hours away bu train) and that is my gift to them. It will be more meaningful than any junk gifts and hopefully, I will return a little of the christmas spirit to the occasion! But i do agree

I blame it on the market for making Christmas more of a "money-spending" event rather than a celebration with loved ones :P
But I guess that's how society is these days, though I do agree with you :(
