Enchanting , Free , Clean , Happy ,
Days of Wonderment
Sounds of the Forest come alive as the sun goes down
Waterfalls gushing at the end of rainbows
We lived in a valley and played in the mud
woke to birds chattering .no traffic
climbed trees ,planted flowers
played with the bugs and learned about wild herbs
my brothers learned to hunt and fish
I learned all about colors ,insects and birds
and why the rivers water flowed differently each season
what caused new waterways
I also learned how to love my neighbors ( we only had 5 ) for miles...but somehow it was important to care then
My Mum died when i was 13 yrs old of cancer ( my dad raised 4 daughters and 5 sons ).....til he too died
We were loved enough to last us a lifetime....
Didnt have many toys and missed out on junk food
First saw TV when i was 10 yrs old.....
A telephone seemed a noisey interuption and so demanding
Our bedsheets never matched and table lined didnt exist
Then we moved to a big town
wow!!
Culture shock
So much Noise
Modern applainces
But people still didnt have time to enjoy
Birds and waterfalls...and Care too much about their Neighbor....
Now I have 3 gorgeous sons...( living in an even bigger City )...who sometimes
Dreams about Waterfalls....Breed pretty birds...Write Poetry and Music......and their hearts still Care about their Neighbors ,including Neighboring Countries........
Great question...thankyou

I was happy as a child. I worked on a farm when I was 13. It helped me buy some things I wanted. I had good parents and friends. I was not an A student, and I had a difficult time with some subjects. But after High School and the service, I attended community college and started working toward an associates degree. I really enjoyed the educational experience after HS. I appreciated it more for some reason.

I was born in south eastern Ky in a poor family.I was the seventh child of an eight child family. Some of my earliest memories are the ones about not having enough to eat.My mom would make sure we ate first and she had what was left.I was born in 1949 1 month after her first born son died from Leukemia. We knew we were loved and that made life easier. We had good times and bad but the good stands out.I remember the home made peanut butter candy and the Fourth of July celebrations that were just as important as Christmas. The times that we went to the Drive In and saw horror movies like the Blob that terrified me and my younger sister. All in all I have good memories of my childhood.

spoiled!! i got everything i wanted. i was the only girl and the youngest. my childhood was filled with shopping every week with an uncle, plenty of gifts for my birthday and christmas, always getting what i wanted, going to the philippines for a 50th anniversary as well as a 2 or 3ft cake with a party to celebrate my 10th birthday, going to hawaii with my cousins family. i just got everything i ever wanted. i had a bliss childhood. of course things went wrong here and there but it was mostly bliss.
i promise im not a spoiled brat anymore though. i work for all my stuff! and i work hard. :) im proud about changing from my past to something more successful.

It was really great until I turned about 11 and my mom married my step dad. He came in like a tornado and terrorized us for years and when he left when I was about 16, the sun was shining but there was a lot of damage.

Difficult because my twin sister & I were in foster care, & we had a bad experience. Our foster family was physically, mentally, verbally, psychologically, & emotionally abusive, & they robbed us of our childhood by keeping us punished for no reason & treating us like slaves.

difficult. grew up with the sounds of ambulance sirens and police radios. sometimes one parent, sometimes both, often neither. often stayed with the neighbors for weeks at a time. crappy, crappy, crappy. would NOT want to relive it. NO WAY IN HELL!
