It has to be a dog. Not a small dog as there is no point. You might as well get a cat then. Dogs are alot more loyal and you can actually play with them. Cats are only for inside company at night.

depends on your lifestyle. if you are home enough, dogs are good because they LOVE affection and attention and someone to play with. Cats do too, but they can last for the day while you slave away at work. they are so independent so if you work alot, there ya go!!
