I've heard Congress is more powerful that the President, but I also heard that they weren't. The Judicial branch is pretty powerful too. Also, is it true the President can give orders to launch nuclear weapons at a desired country? Or does he need some sort of consent?

The Executive Branch is the most powerful because its wields influence over the Judiciary through its appointing power and to the Judiciary as party head of the Senators and Congressmen.

With the system of checks and balances all three branches should have the same power. Now it is up to those branches to keep each other in check

All three branches are supposed to be equal in power. However, Bush has been making every attempt to expand the power of his office. He seems to ignore the constitution as though it is "just a piece of paper".

they are divided equally, but there are strong leaders and weak leaders , and always a battle between the branches to get something over on the others

The executive branch. Though there should be checks and balances. Many influential positions are appointed by them, and their actions happen quicker than the other two.

The Treasury Dept. with the IRS as the bad boys who make their own rules and follow the ones they want to. More feared then the CIA who answers to Congress.
