Zubov has been plugging along for years and years and years. He is a great defenseman. You dont hear about him cause people take him for granted. Under-rated? Nope. He can play on my team!

Not too long ago (sometime in the past 30 days) I was on www.nhl.com and saw a poll question that basically asked what defenseman was most important to his team... they had 5 blueliners listed from Lidstrom to Pronger... and NO mention of Zubov. This kind of question comes up every once in awhile and Zubov is never mentioned as a answer... If you just look at his stats, even in the last 5 seasons (even last season) he is and has always been a dominant defenseman... Underrated??? You bet he is. Comng in 3rd last year for the Norris was the closest he came and that is a crime in itself. Is he better than Lidstrom? No, but if someone made the argument that he was better I would listen. Is he better than Pronger? You bet he is; he is better than every other defensemen in the league except fo Lidstrom. I saw someof the earlier answers to thi question and I the people who said he was too old to stand up to the younger elite defensemen are insane. They need to look at the stats alone if they don't want to watch his team play.

I wouldn't say he is underrated s has always been a great defenseman, It seems like he has been in the league for 100 years now, so when players begin to lose a step (they all eventually do) people tend to get on them more or forget about what they once were.

Absolutely. He had a great game against the Sharks tonight, and the great Drew Remenda even said the same thing. "Zubov does not get the recognition he deserves."

He's incredible to watch. He can come over to the Sharks anytime. We need defense help really bad.

He's not underrated, just underappreciated. He's not as flashy as a Lidstrom, but gets the job done that is asked of him. Has never won a Norris, but I'll take him on my team any day.

Yes- if you really watch him on the power play it is amazing. He has so much patience. Sometimes as fans we want them to shoot immediately, but he waits until just the right moment. He really is in charge when he is on special teams. He is always in control. Even when he is beat, he comes back with such poise and determination. His number speak for themselves. I am always amazed that he gets little recognition.

i have fixed feelins on zubov...

some days he is one of the smartest and skilled defense men i ever saw.

other days i wanna fly to dallas and strangle him. I think he is for the most part good, but he has been in the game for years and his way past his prime. i think he is good but might not be good enough to keep up with the up and coming young guns.

People know he's good, but he doesn't get as much recognition as he should. I think he's the best defensive passer in the league.
