Neon are individual atoms and inert.Hence,it does not form bonds.
Iodine can form 1-5 bonds.
Selenium can form 2-6 bonds.

Here's a technique. Group 1 in the periodic table has 1 valence electron so it will just form one bond. so , therefor all you have to do is to look where the element belong in the periodic table. but always remember the maximum bond an element can have is four. group eight are stable elements so therefor no need to bond. the valence electrons also dethermines the number of bonds. nalito??? hehehe
