I have a feeling genetic engineering shall soon be used as a tool for war. They can target specific genes in humans to activate a genome to kill a specific group and not affect another, at least that's what I was told in a bio class five-seven years ago. And the whole sci-fi idea of super soldiers might not be so unrealistic in the coming decades. You might want to throw that in for a potential future weapon.

Gunpower was originally a Chinese elixer or something.
I think the argument could be made that nuclear technology initially set out for peaceful purposes, but was hijacked by military institutions. Such an argument would likely be specious, though.
I believe such technologies are quite exceptional, though, as the general trend, from my knowledge, is in the opposite direction.

I think that it's a fallacious question, nobody invents anything for peace, they invent to become rich or make a task simpler or a thousand other reasons. I don't think peace is a very strong motivator for invention.
Gun powder was invented by the Chinese to make fireworks, now we use it for 2000lb daisy cutters.
