It was snowy out. I was on ice and snow got stuck the wheel kept spinning and since then the lights are on..... any idea what happened, and did I cause something major? Thanks The car seems to run fine...


could it be because snow is on it perhaps ice? Is it expensive? May the light turn off or most likly i dont have abs working anymore?

Don't worry, it's not a serious problem.

The system is just confused with the drive wheels spinning at all speeds while the front wheels are stationary for an extended period of time. When this light comes on, you will lose both DSC and ABS - since they're an integral system.

It will reset itself when you turn the engine off; and back on.

Next time, when you are stuck, manually turn off the DSC/traction by pushing the button on the center console (the amber light will come on), then rock yourself out of the rut. DSC is only really useful when your car is in motion.

You should also consider using winter tires. All-seasons just don't cut it.

When the light is on that means your Anti skid is off. Hit the button to turn it back on.

can be a bad speed sensor. the traction control system and abs system work off the same thing.

If the light is staying on he needs to take it to the dealer, there is a problem with the system.
