I have to say, as a fan of McLaren since the times of Senna when I was very little... I am very dissapointed, especially because not only they lied but the practically blamed it all on Alonso and De la Rosa, what McLaren did this year was disgusting... what do u think?

It's not the end of the world...it's hardly a blip compared to scandals of the past. It just seems more important in here due to the high number of McLaren fans on UK Y!A.
All the teams spy on each other, but McLaren went too far with an active "insider" working for another team.
At least Mclaren have finally decided to come clean and to get the affair out of the newspapers as quickly as possible.
As they admitted in their letter, they were legally responsible for the actions of their employees, so they aren't trying to pin it all on their Spaniards any more.

I have been a very loyal fan of McLaren since the times of Mika and like you, I too feel VERY disappointed by all these latest truths.

The fact that senior McLaren engineering managers knew about a "mole" within Ferrari is disgusting. And the fact that they planned to use Ferrari information for 2008 is furiously disgusting. This is not befitting to a team that prides itself in it's corporate honesty and integrity.

Anyway, I feel McLaren has betrayed me as a fan. I am sure many McLaren fans feel the same way; the way we defended and stood by the team in these hard times all came to nothing.

BUT I felt much much better after reading the McLaren statement and I accept the apology. It truly feels like closure is at hand. It is in these times that the team needs the support from it's fans and I will continue to be a fan of McLaren hoping for good things to come in the future. No matter how long it takes.

There are some stuff going on behind close doors that will never make it to the press. It has something to do with their next year's car.

With this letter, Max has said that he will now request that the world motorsport body to cancel February hearing, and thus putting an end to everything. However, this will also meant that their 2008 car will be good to go by the motorsport body.

The letter isn't just an open apology. They are probably trying to solve the issue and get their 2008 the green light

What exactly is going on, we don't know.

I think McLaren caused a lot of controversy this year, but hopefully it won't happen anymore. They are an excellent team in terms of driving anyhow and at least they've come clean and the spy scandal is over now.
