He just stormed off and slammed the door really hard. I'm so sick of his crap. Any ideas?

Assert your authority..Duh!! Don't let anyone run you over like that! It just shows your weakness. Hire someone who RESPECTS you.~~

On the off chance you're serious, I'll answer straight. Years ago, a good friend and small businessman taught me how to work. One of the things he explained was that if he told me to go paint his house, then I should go paint his house. I worked for him to do the jobs he assigned to me. But, if he was a boss working for a company and I was a worker under his control, then it wouldn't be right, since we both would be employees of the company and that would be misuse of the stockholders money. The exceptions were, if he asked me to do it in an unsafe way or break the law doing it. If I didn't know how to do it, then I should tell him and ask if he wanted me to try anyhow. Down through the years I've seen it from both sides and that covered the subject. If you hired him and his job description was broad, just you work for me, then your request was perfectly legal but a little odd. If his job description was specific, i.e. you drive my limo and take care of the vehicles, then an immediate renegotiation of terms, conditions and pay is in order. However, his reaction was completely out of line, if he is employed by you, and is grounds for immediate dismissal.

La de da ! Maybe it`s not in his job description. Get rid of him and hire several more "servants," surely one of the newly hired will stoop to paint madame's toenails. Perhaps madame`s toenails are an inch long and are infected with a fungus is why your servant copped an attitude. Tsk, Tsk.

Paint them yourself. You might realize all the fun you're missing if you do it yourself. Besides... if someone does something for you because you demand it...they won't do their best. But if they do it because they want to or they respect you, they'll always be at their best at it. You have servants? Wow!...some people only dream of things that others have problems with.

Well you can try to be POLITE to him. You know painting your own toenails isn't a bad thing. Also, remember the "Good Book" says "Do unto others" Now ask yourself, Would you enjoy painting someone Else's toenails? I know I wouldn't you should never ask someone to do something you wouldn't enjoy doing yourself.

I generally find that, when dealing with servants, it's often good practice to have them thoroughly thrashed with the severed arm of their significant other (or a close relative).

Generally does the trick and they are soon grateful to be burnishing your various appendages again......for less pay than before too, I might add ;-)

Give him a stern slap in the face, point your finger at him 1" from his nose, and say "paint my toenails, or I'm going to make you eat your own head."

Don't you just hate when the help doesn't act right?

He needs to be severely disciplined but if it happens again I'd fire him and hire someone else in his place. Try paying for someone to be smuggled over the border. These people make excellent help they are just so grateful they are int he country that they will do whatever you ask them without attitude.

it is not a servant's job to paint your nails. you pay someone at a salon when you want a petticure. He is probably sick of your crap if you ask for such ridiculous stuff. if you were a waitress, how would you feel if someone was stupid enough to ask you to wipe there mouth after they ate for them? it is not his job. stop acting so spoiled and entitled. Grow up.

Give him 10 minutes to calm down and then offer him the opportunity again, but with a different shade of polish. If he still resists, threaten to deport him.
