Why is race always the rallying cry of Bonds lovers? The man is a poor excuse for a human being, no matter his race. He cheated, he committed a crime by lying under oath about it and he made it worse by spending years denying it when all clear thinking people of the world knew he was lying. Like it or not, much of the hatred for Barry is made worse by his personality. It's not the color of his skin, it's his holier than thou attitude, his abrasiveness and his sense of entitlement. As for Clemens, he lost any respect I may have had for him professionally; he always seemed like a jerk to me personally, though not to the level of Barry.

Roger Clemens was a hall of famer when he left the Red Soxs. His performance has always been a great player, if it's true that he did take drugs, it never made him a "better player". It just didn't make him "go bad as fast"
Roger Clemens was never ridiculously skinny, then put on a ton of weight. His weight gain seems steady.
Barry Bonds early in his career was skinny. He put on a lot of weight before he and McGuire smashed the single season homerun record, and how McGuire surpassed Ruth and Aaron for the all time homerun record. If Barry Bonds didn't take drugs, no one would remember him because he would have never accomplished any of those things.
If it's true Clemens did take drugs, regardless of the fact. People WOULD remember him, because he's won so many Cy Young awards, and has done things no other pitcher has like striking out 20 batters within 9 innings in a single game. BEFORE he supposed took any drugs
Villify him? Maybe a little, but definetly not as much as Barry Bonds. Clemens hasn't tarnished any records. Sure he has over 300 wins, and is in 2nd place for most strikeouts. But those records aren't tarnished. Because he doesn't have the strikeout record, and joining the 300 win club isn't that big a deal in my opinion.
Breaking the all time home run record, and single season HR record because of drugs does makes it look worse for BONDs than it does for Clemens. and while Clemens has a lot of Cy Young awards. Bonds holds the record for MVP awards.
They're both going to be villified but BONDs way more than Clemens. But Clemens loses the most because of his reputation.

I'm a white guy who never trusted Roger Clemens, thank you very much.
Barry Bonds is the greatest hitter of the Steroid Era, Roger Clemens is the greatest pitcher of the Steroid Era.
Whatever that means, I'll leave for future fans to decide.
Adds: And I was always the first to point out to others that Bonds was facing juiced pitchers...so is his record illegitimate? I don't know.

Yes my friend I sure will. But I never had a problem with Bonds or Clemens they are both pricks, and I really don't care what they did. They are the two best players I have ever seen. I think Bonds will win his case because you need proof. I don't believe people saying you did something without physical evidence holds up in court. But the guy is a prick why do black people stick up for him? Just wanna know.

I'm really sick of racism from both blacks, whites, and whoever. And this is a racist question. As for both Bonds and Clemens, if they were both dishonest, dishonesty is dishonesty. If the allegations are true, they may have been some of the greatest ballplayers, but it's impossible to know anymore. And hence the asterisk.

'you white people'? It's amazing how racist people can be in an attempt to make others seem racist. But to answer your question simply: Yes.
Bonds hung himself. He didn't need anyone else's help to do that. Race has nothing to do with it, he's a class A jerk and a liar to boot. As for Clemens, he's gone and hung himself, too. I have lost all possible respect for him, as will most everyone else.

I will. Clemens is worthelss druggy scum. Just like McGuire, Bonds, Pettite,and all the rest. None of them should ever be allowed to disgrace the hall of fame. Lifetime bans for all.

How long will it take for racist people to understand that normal people don't care about Marion Jones even though she was busted for steroids. She was black and dominant, but the media doesn't care about her. Why? Because she not a jerk. Color has nothing to do with it.
