Seeing as Australia is not located at the equator, of you take an average latitude of 27 degrees S. If you were to follow that latitude around the earth, the distance would be approximately 28000km.

If you went over the equator (in a great circle) the earth being an oblate spheroid as opposed to a true spheroid, the distance would be about 38800km.

Hope tha helps :)
