how and where can I find free foreclosure listings in my area?

There may be a few foreclosure listings through you local banks which are the most likely venues for properties. There may also be mortgage companies who own property repossessed thru forclosure. And one thing for sure, you had better know what you are doing or you will get fleeced like a sheep.

right this is the rub: all the foreclosure sites, loose or pay sites, get their tips from the required postings interior the paper. they do no longer seem to be as much as date. a number of those residences by no ability make it to the general auction block, they are redeemed, short saled, etc.. If the residences do circulate to foreclosure, it somewhat is months before they are offered on the marketplace. bypass the foreclosure sites and initiate chatting with a Realtor.

Even the sites you pay for are notoriously inaccurate. Contact your local tax office for an accurate list, generally for free.
