Socks comes from a Civil Air Patrol encampment I went to way back in the day. We were playing softball and so we're all dressed up in tshirts and gym shorts and me, I wear these over-the-calf tube socks so I look like a dorky soccer player out there on the pitcher's mound.
The other team started making fun of me over the socks (as if my pitching wasn't bad enough) and the nickname stuck. I like it :) I like soccer too btw :P
Um my avatar is my yahoo avatar. They didn't have a powder blue zoot suit option, so I took the next best thing.
