Yes you do get your period when you start the sugar pills. usually within the first two pills. When I started taking the pill when I was 19 the doctor advised me to take them at night before bed so you would not feel nauseous. It worked out pretty well for me. If you are taking them for birth control (as opposed to cramp relief, like I did), make sure you use protection for the rest of the month.

The pill "tricks" your body into thinking it's pregnant to prevent it from ovulating. As a result, it makes many women nauseous. Try taking it before bed - you may sleep through the nauseous feeling. As for when your period will come, it could come any time during the "sugar" pills, but not necessarily on the first day.

I suggest you read the insert from yoru packet of pills. Most of these types of questions are covered in great length and usually pretty easy to read and understand. (Not like stereo set up instructions which still confuse me. :-)

Good luck.

I got my period after three months on the pill, it started on my fourth sugar pill and lasted three days.

Its normal for things to be a little off (nausea, etc) so give it a few before wanting to change birth control. Inform your doctor of when the nausea hits after taking the pill.

Nausea is typically an occasional side effect but I've never had any, more so queasiness. For me, my period doesn't start until two or three days after I'm supposed to take my green/sugar pills. I don't take them since they're just placebos.

Yes, you usually get your period when you begin the sugar pills. I don't know that feeling sick is normal when taking the pill. Is it possible that you were already pregnant when you started it?

Yes you do start, but as far as feeling sick. Most people (Women) don't, if it doesn't go away in a few days. Let your Doctor know, the pill your taking may not be right for you.
A co/worker of mine ended up trying 4 different ones before one worked well with her body.

You get your period sometime during the week of the sugar pills, but not necessarily on the first day. Mine usually comes that wednesday.
