"I consider old people treasures who should be valued for their knowlege and experiences. They are living history books."
If I wanted to read about George Washington, I'd look it up online. Do you think this is funny?

I suggest that you take Mark Twain's advice; "It is better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt."

What is funny, I did not get the joke. You don't have punch line, were the writers on strike?
The internet is full of information but not necessarily true.
I will take Encyclopedia Britannica any day over Wikipedia, because of authenticity.
Some old people have some experience not found in any history books, or even story books.

History books are great for facts but if you want a personal account, a person living during the time is your best bet.

Example: my mom is 97. She lived through WW1, rationing, depression, WW2 and a lot since then. What she tells me about the real day to day events and how her family coped is more than I would ever find in a book. That's a treasure.

Nope-that statement was eloquent and quite true in many cultures...and yes, they ARE lliving history books...each with their own view, experience and slant on the past...much better than an online piecce.

You will end up being very one dimensional in your so-called education and outlook....daggum shame...the mind is a terrible thing to waste, as is the soul and heart.

I hate to break it to you, but one day---with any luck---you will get old and what comes around goes around. Keep being disrespectful and making fun of seniors but just remember you'll be dealing with the same kind of discrimination when you have gray hair.

Yeah, right. If you believe that, then I have some great property available for you to purchase at a reduced rate.
If I draw you a treasure map to an unknown island, do you think you can find it? There are more old con artists out there just waiting to take advantage of you youngsters who think all old people are honest & nice & trustworthy. Don't buy it. Many are liars...pure & simple!
