Paypal has a buyer protection thing ..You should be safe. Look at the sellers ratings. If they have below a certain amount (I'd say below 50 or 100) or they have a bad rating (since you're spending alot of money, I'd say dont go below 98% ....When Im buying something big, I wont buy from anyone with less than 100 feedbacks, or from anyone with under a 99% rating). If they have alot of good feedback, then you should be alright. I dont know about the phone youre wanting to get. If I were you I'd just google 'samsung u600 ratings' or 'user reviews'. You should be able to find sites that tell you the good and the bad about that phone.

I have found paypal to be a much safer way to purchase on ebay as paypal is basically an intermediary so you are not giving your visa details to the person you are purchasing from. Make sure you get the item sent with registered post that you can track and then you know for sure the item is on its way. If you have trouble and don't receive the item you can put in a claim to paypal and will get your money refunded.

First you should check the seller's feedback; how many and the rating. Secondly, if you use Paypal, they will go to bat with you if you are screwed. They will refund your money if you present a case that is believable. Ebay will not help you in any way.

You are protected with PayPal and if you use a credit card on PayPal then you are doubly protected, because of the protection that your card company gives you.

As far as the phone goes, it looks nice but I have no need for all that.
