1. The Russian 5. Fetisov is in the Russian Hockey Hall of Fame, the IIHF Hall of Fame, and Hockey Hall of Fame. Larionov will probably end up in all 3. Fedorov has an outside chance at the Hockey Hall of Fame due to his Hart/Pearson combination (Someone with that combination will not make the HHOF - will it be him, St. Louis, or Iginla?)

Of the Swedes.............Lidstrom is the only HOFer on the list. Zetterberg will need to repeat his performance from the first 30 games this year for the rest of his career to have a shot.

I'll take the Russian 5

2) Chelios has more Norris Trophies, and more Stanley Cup rings....and more post-season all-star recognition....and he's still playing at age 165. I'm taking Chelios.

3) Brodeur has more wins in regulation, more shutouts, better goals against average, better save percentage, better shutout ratio............in fewer games. I'm taking Brodeur (Roy won his 1986 and 1993 Conn Smythe trophies because his team sucked but he didn't - he was the only worthy choice)

4. I'm not going to go to jail here for robbing the cradle am I?

5. Koivu. He's been through a lot and the Finnish Hockey League holds him in higher esteem as well.

Russian: Sergei Federov - He is an exemplary 2 way player. Good on face-offs. He could score as well as set-up. And he was better at all of these than any of the other Russians you mentioned. He isn't much of a goto guy though but still wins.

American: Hands down Brian Leetch. Chris Chelios has longevity on his side but Leetch carried the Rangers team after the '94 cup. Even though the team sucked people bought tickets to see him and Mike Richter.

Canadian Goalie: Hands down Patrick Roy. Marty Brodeur is statistically WORSE than Curtis Joseph, Ed Belfour and Dominik Hasek. If you don't believe me google Brodeur vs Roy or Brodeur vs Hasek and you will see for yourselves. Some hockey nerds have done extensive studies to prove that Brodeur won cups because of the team in front of him. A better but premature comparison would have been Roy vs Roberto Luongo.

Sean Avery wins this battle. I hate the guy but he's a vital cog on the Rangers.

Finland: Olli is the more talented player but Saku has the heart and determination. Overall I think Olli wins. He is underrated because he plays in nowheresville whereas Saku is the captain of les Habitants.

Edit: Forgot to mention the Swedes. This is a tough one. You've got Nic Lidstrom who's won waayyyy too much hardware vs. up and comer and loaded with talent - Henrik Zetterberg. I'd go with the proven, dependable, franchise corner stone Lidstrom.

Russian 5. There's no such thing as the Swedish 7. They don't even play on the same lines most of the time. The Russian 5 were on the ice together constantly and they all played together in Russia at one point. Your Swedish 7 is just 7 Swedes the wings have.

Russians--I'm very very biased I adore Fedorov + the 3 SC rings are clogging his ears.. ;) and he's good at face -offs and he can even play some, I stress...some D.

American---Leetch Chelios would get my vote if he'd learn to not be such an azzclown.

g- Roy

Swedish
Leetch...Chelios is a jerk and that may have nothing to do with his ability as a player but it has everything to do with my opinion.
Roy....come on!?
