I have a DSL connection. I have my modem connected via USB. I just got a Belkin N wireless router . I connected my computer networkingcable to the wired computer portion of the wireless router. I then connected the other networking cable to the router and modem via the modem port. then plugged everything in. I left the modem USB cord connected but was unable to connect to the interent. I tired unplugging the cord and the same thing happened. Is the problem due to my modem being connected via USB. I tried connecting my modem via ethernet but am unable to get an internet connection that way. Do I have to set up my modem for ethernet before I can get this wireless router to work? I have a westall modem.

From what I recall the belkins come with a CD that you run, that "logs" the setup info for the modem, you then unplug modem, and connect the rouer and connect modem to it, then let software continute so it sets it all up for you.

Did you READ the setup guide the router came with ?
Try following it step by step.

ok if its quest:
connect everything on the back so the first modem box is on. then take the Ethernet cord and plug it into the output part of the first modem
connect that to the back of the belkin at the Uplink setting (the only one set off by a seperate color.
turn on the belkin and connect to the computer.

hope it helps...
