Or do you think it indicates that something psychological is wrong and that they might be reinacting their history of abuse?

Whatever a person wants is okay as long as they are requesting from someone willing to provide. Our bodies, male and female, are uniquely ours and any decisions we make about how to decorate or pleasure them is really nobody else's business. So even if it were some reinacting of former abuse, if it is healing for the woman, then it really is nobody's business to judge.

I think rough sex, is fine as long as both participants want it and no one gets permanently hurt. I like being spanked, but not too roughly, I have fantasies of being tied up, raped, but of cause in the fantasies I'm really turned on, and its my choice who is doing it and i know what i want them to do and say to me, and i guess its not really rape if you want and enjoy what their doing to you?!
I wouldn't want to be raped in real life by a stranger, or an body of course that i don't want to have sex with. I think for some women its about being wanted so badly by another person, its the excitement of having no control, whilst at the some time both of you are getting pleasure from something that seems so wrong!
if a women says she wants rough sex and she wants to be badly hurt, i do think maybe, there are issues from her past that may need sorting out by a some type of therapist/ councilor.

Guess that depends on how rough. I don't know if that always related to a history of abuse though.
Some people just like different types of sex. I am not into S&M.

That's a really great question Bob. It might very well be. Mind you, not all that like a lil' roughness during sex come from an abusive back-ground. Hmmm, oh gawd, why do you have to go and make me think damnit?!! :P

It is what she wants and presumably enjoys, so it is ok. Different people like different things and at different times. There is an older saying " variety is the spice of life "....there might be something to it.

The degree of rough sex is the question. Meaning slapping, kicking, spiting, and biting. Other than that I love rough sex.

Roughing it doesn't aways mean it has to hurt, some like it hard and rough. But if they want it to hurt and they start to bleed then I suppose that isn't quiet right.

some do, and some don't. Ok, with me, I like my men a little on the dark side. if they were a goody-goody, then, NO WAY! I like my men, or I did when I was single, to be kinda Goth, a little rough around the edges, and no choir boys here, thanky very much! I find my hubby of 11 years to be sexy when he has a goatee, earring, and dressed all in black. withj his hair combed back.mmmmmmmm!

According to Freud, the only real perversion is no sex at all - beyond that, it's all personal choice (yes, I heard that on CSI). Each person is his/her own best judge of what excites them.
