You are used to this person and is easier to accept who you know with their habbits than to embrace the unknown of meeting someone new. The answer is are really good friends but cant seem to go to the next level. What about their happiness.... the world has expectations, but what about the individuals expectations. Time will tell...in my opinion they are going to stay for a while together and then the just stay friends unless one of them cheat...

I was in a similar relationship. We dated, got tired of each other, but neither wanted to admit that we were shallow a-holes that had only dated each other because of the physical attraction. Our personalities didn't click so I finally called it off (we dated 1 month, the last week we only talked once and that was to "break up", lol).

I think most couples just get comfortable and don't always realize that they're unhappy because they just don't know what real happiness is anymore. They're so used to their boyfriend/girlfriend that they don't know what they'd do without them... So it's easier to stay together then break up.

you cant make one stay if they feel they do not love-is it giving up-only if there was some kind prerealtioship commitment that each party would stick it out regardless of what the other said ,did or didnt-so no.....sometimes two people are meant for eachother-it takes a multitude of connections on many levels for any realationship to remain strong

some people are afraid of being lonely. others are afraid of starting over. some believe that the person they are with have poteintial and believe they will change. it is very hard to let go of something that you have had for a long time. maby they don't want eachother at this point and time, but the love they have for each other keeps them together.

they're just bot scared of excepting changing what is a hard part of life. Humans are similar to animals, because we like our own habit. We find something we do a lot and just get use to it. But everybody can adapt.

Yes I was in a relationship like that.. and I really don't know why I stayed.. I think more or less it was cause I didn't want to hurt him.. And I didn't want to be alone.. and the sex was good.. LOL

I think it's fear of loneliness. If you leave, you might not find anyone else. So you stay, rather than face being alone. The truth, though, is that you don't die of loneliness and you can find someone better if you let go.

because it's easier said than done, especially if the two people live together (in this case everything changes, even things that you never thought would make a difference)

I'm no expert, but maybe both people think they can't do any better. So they are "stuck" with that person. They'd rather have that than be alone.
