WRONG!
It's as wrong as Kobe Bryant being taken 13th overall.

With hindsight I would have taken Vince Young but with the trade for Matt Schaub I think Mario Williams is the better pick. Reggie Bush will never become an everydown back. Houston can now fill their RB void with someone late like Ray Rice or Jonathan Stewart and become an instant playoff contender.

Well, it's early but the pendulum has definitely swung toward Houston's decision.
I think one knock on Williams last year was not being the best defensive player on his own team. From the same draft Demeco Ryans was a tackling machine, and arguably the better all around player.
Bush has the tools, but he's no longer faster than everyone else on the field. He also doesn't seem to have the field vision that say Adrian Peterson has.
We'll see, but Texan fans should feel a lot better when Mario arrives in Hawaii for the Pro Bowl.

It's hard to answer because Reggie Bush isn't performing as well this year at the Saints. There's no way in telling what he would have done in Houston, but at the time, Houston made a BAD pick. However, now, Mario Williams is beginning to understand the NFL. In Bush's defense, there are a few things that could possibly be holding him back this year: his Heisman could be taken away and he went into the season thinking he'd be getting more carries than last year. He is getting more carries, but he didn't anticipate this many, seeing how Duece McAllister was the featured back before the season started. Mario Williams is being helped A LOT on defense in Houston with DeMeco Ryans behind him. I say give it at least one more year to fully tell that the right choice was Mario Williams.

I'd certainly take him over Reggie Bush or Vince Young. Defensive end is a very, very important position in the NFL right now, and Williams is now looking like a winner.

Great pass on Reggie, Mario is what this team needed to at least have any kind of D. They could've went w/ a QB but vince isn't all that either.
Good choice

you could p.c.. the different team to p.c.. for. in simple terms like each the different Houstonians accessible, you're delusional. Vince is a great college qb. He performed his entire season interior the shotgun. that isn't gonna ensue interior the nfl. communities have not got the time to teach him common mechanics that he ought to have found out in intense college. Plus he desires to check a thank you to study defenses. Mario supplies the Texans a bypass rush. something that have in no way had. One good DE isn't sufficient anymore. so which you would be able to cheer for yet another team that is large. in simple terms are not getting back on the bandwagon

correct choice by passing on Bush but maybe not on Young.
for all those who dont know Vince is from Houston and that franchise could have used a hometown hero to kick start that organization.
but Mario is also a beast this season, but where was he last season? same could be said for Vince and Bush this year, great last year but have kinda hit that Sophmore slump a little bit hard.

I thought he was the right pick for Houston from the start. At the time they needed D line help much more than a RB.
