My girlfriend and I of 7 years have broken up and I've been really depressed to the point where I can't sleep, eat or even function right, how bad is it for me to drink after not eating for 5 days! Thanks in advance.
P.s. I've tried eating but keep throwing it up!

Hi,

Well alcohol is a depressant so if you are feeling depressed & you drink a depressant...well, that's not what you need right now.

Find other replacements, quick.

Do the opposite of what you are now doing. Take care of yourself more. Eat right, exercise, get involved in healthy activities.

Cant hold anything down. Just eat a little easy to digest stuff. A half a banana, some oatmeal, rice, a little tea.

This will pass.

Exactly! Neither Are Good! But I know people who eat What ever they want, but stay away from alcohol DIRECTLY. As in they eat it all, even if it has alcohol IN IT. But they don't Directly Drink it. What the heck is going on. And if you see the Big Muslim Sheikhs and IMAMS who own Oil and Large Land that May Have Oil and Own Hotels, actually drink alcohol themselves! They actually Get Drunk With their Western Investors! They actually drink more then the investors! This is a bad thing! They are both a sin.

Drinking is not the solution either, being depressed and drinking may lead to alcoholism. If you get drunk you are not in total control of your senses and may do or say something you'll regret; drive and cause an accident, etc.
Best thing I can suggest is to eat small portions of food that has little or no fat content in it. Think more positively, the pros and cons of your relationship and know that you will find someone again. Do power walking or exercise when you start to dwell on your break-up and think positives. If you don't improve soon, seek counseling or see your doctor. But for God's sake, don't start drinking, especially on an empty stomach!

drinking too much without anything on your stomach can really affect you. You'r probably more drunk than normal after youve had a few. This can also mess with your blood sugar levels too. Too much beer/alcohol and nothing to help break down the sugars (food in your stomach) can possibly make you pass out from a what some call diabetic coma. (when the blood sugar is too high)

try eating something, even if it is crackers or something small and simple. I wouldnt reccommend going on much longer like this, it could cause more health problems in the long run.

Well, drinking on an empty stomach is not a good idea. The alcohol in the drink gets absorbed into your body much quicker. You get so much more intoxicated, and your hangovers will be worse. I think that you should try eating very slowly. Try to get other liquids into your body, not alcoholic beverages, and start there. Believe it or not, drinking will make your depression worsen. After you have other drinks, try moving on to soft things like yogurt... try to avoid alcohol... like I said before... it can only worsen your depression.

Don't do it. Drinking will only magify the situation out of proportion. If you drink on an empty stomache, things will seem worse than they actually are. Start out by eating something mild. Since you are vomiting, make sure you drink juices and water to keep you from dehydrating. But don't drink you blues away - it will only make it worse.

Take it from an old pro, you'll be on medication by the time you're in your mid-thirties.
You'll burn the lining out of your stomach. Then you'll not only be limited on what you drink but what you eat as well.
There are too many good women out there to be hung up over one...........Get out there and enjoy them!

drinking and not eating, thats really bad. and drinking itself isnt gooe either. try to find something to get your mind off of it, if for five minutes. watch amovie. I know you dont feel like it, but force yourself to. If we didnt do anything we didnt wantto do, where would we be? eat crackers. nibble on little snacks. eat something you've loved for forever. like me, eat oreos, or something. Please ry sleeping or something. your body is under alot of stress and your mind is too. calm yourself down and really make an effort to calm yourself and get better. I know you eant to wollow in misery, but i know for a fact that no matter how depressed you are now, you are going to feel so much better that you got out of it when you do. Please try to take baby steps.its hard to reach the other side of a bank in one leap. Step on the sepping stones. they wouldnt be called that if you werent supposed to use them. I wont gaurentee that it will be easy, in fact i doubt it will. But trust me when i say it will be worth it.
