My garden books list a Japanese Angelica as (botanical name) Aralia elata. Hope this is the plant you are looking for.

Japanese Andromeda - small semi-evergreen with small white flower clusters in spring. 'Angelica' might be a variety. Artemsia is a grayish green fine foliaged low growing perennial.
