Hey there, have check engine light on. Hooked it up at autozone guy said it was cylinder 3 not firing properly "MISSING".

Replaced spark plugs... Still not running right. Strong gas odor.

Car revs up fine in park. Just when driving studders at around 40 mph. VERY POOR GAS MILEAGE.

Anyone have any ideas?

I would say coil or plug wire is bad. Clear the code, then move the coil to another cylinder and recheck the codes and see if the problem moved cylinders If not, then clear the codes and move the plug wire to another cylinder and see if the problem moves cylinders. Then, if your talented, move injectors. You could also start with a compression check in cylinder #3. At least 150 LBS.

With all you have done, you havent checked compression in the engine yet? To do correctly remove all 4 spark plugs, with comm tester check each cylinder. Should be 120 psi +/- 10 psi. Then do a running test, put the 3 back you know are firing. Start and idle, is compression low, below 90 psi? If so, that cylinder has a bad valve.

try swapping fuel injectors from #3 to another cylinder and clear the codes and see if the code moves to a different cylinder. If so, you may have a bad injector.

Sounds like somethings wrong with your engine all right. Try replacing spark plug wires, and distributor cap [if applicable].

dirty injector, or a bad coil pack.

well it seems to me that you have a coil/coil pack that is faulty...change the coil pack/coil.
