Pearl Harbor and 9/11 are somewhat similar.
As you know, the attack of Pearl Harbor was during World War II and it was a surprise. Both events shook America and caused us to wake up.
During both wars we tried to stay neutral but when Pearl Harbor occured, the Americans were all for entering the war because they attacked us first. Same thing for 9/11, we went to Afganastan (also Iraq) because of terrorism. For both, we did it to protect our country even though right now they keep telling us to leave. A numerous amount of people died, but there were more during 9/11, they were both in the morning and destroyed by planes.

They had nothing to do with each other and are similar in very few ways. Other than the notion of a surprise attack, they have almost nothing in common. Pearl Harbor was launched on a military base amidst peace talks by Japanese military units. They packed up their embassy and the next morning blew the hell out of the American base. There was a battle and the Americans defended themselves and eventually won the war. 9/11 was completely different, portrayed by the popular media as launched by terrorists, but perhaps actually having a much different source. Compare the pop media documentary Farenheit 9/11 with the indie docu. "Loose Change"

They are very dissimilar. Pearl Harbor was a state-sponsored act of war whereas 9/11 was a criminal act carried out by a gang of outlaws. That was no more an act of war than were the depredations of the Dalton Gang, the James Gang, or the Mafia. It most certainly did not call for a war on Iraqis, because the outlaws of 9/11 were Saudis!

Absolutely! Both were air attacks on American territory by foreign forces that we weren't (yet) at war with. Beyond that, the political circumstances were rather different, but the two events had almost identical immediate effects. If you know any people old enough to remember Pearl Harbor, ask them where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news. They can probably answer very exactly, just as you can remember exactly where you were and what you were doing on September 11, 2001.

nope. One was done by a country who wanted war (the declaration was late by an hour) compared to a group of idiots using their religion as a reason to wage war against what they considered infidels.
