I feel it is best not to answer. The last thing I ever want to do is hurt someone. Now that I think of it, I had to confront someone and I didn't want to do it. Fortunately, a dear friend was there with me at the time. I then got a letter from the person denying everything she said and that hurt. She came up with a big lie. My hubby was there and couldn't believe this person could lie through her teeth. I told the woman I had forgiven her~~no matter what and that would be the end of it~~but never heard from her again. I hate confronting people~~I don't want to hurt anyone even if they are lying.

I don't lie about it. Most of the time I just find a way to make it as nice as I can, because I'm a nice person. And sometimes I just don't answer at all cause I don't know what to say. But not saying anything has really affected relationships in the past.

It depends on how much respect I have for the Individual, if I respect the person the truth and nothing less, on the other hand if I have no respect for the person than chances are I'll lie to them, forget not answering because I much rather them think something good opposed to just leaving them wondering.

If I think he/she will benefit from the negative answer then I let them know but if I think they will argue and disagree with teh answer I tell them I dont really know or move on to another subject. If I dont lnow them that well I dont even pay attention and go get myself a drink to leave the room and change the subject better to be rood than sorry

Answer, and don't lie, but understate the truth.
I. E. Your friend buys an insane hat. They tell you it cost $19.95.
They ask: What do you think?
You say: It's not my favorite, but it's okay.
They will probably get the hint, but not be crushed.

It really depends...if it isn't going to harm them...then a tell a "white" lie.
No need to hurt someones feelings for something that isn't that big of deal.

I think over my answer and rephrase it in my mind and of course use a nice tone so they won't feel offended, it's all about the tone and body language.

Tell it like it is. Be kind and gentle about it, but tell the truth.

Well sometimes I'll lie. For example:
Rebecca: Don't you love my new haircut?
Me: Ya, its soo cute!
I might of really hated it, lol.
