That's nice of you to think that, but you're a bit off. I always open a door for a lady and smile, and while you're right that most appreciate it, I have had more than a few ladies not say "thank you", and I've had a few that gave me a dirty look or said they could do it themselves..
Oh, and I don't have a girl.. but I'm sure the fact that I do open doors helps my cause more than hurt it.. :-)
