...and that it would take "time" to be accepted. Well, this isn't a chat room, and i am NOT doing anything wrong by posting questions. My question for this oh-so sensative group is, was that person accurate? Is this a group setting? Will I or any younger person get reported if we post a question that is against your delicate sensibilities (or you simply don't agree with it!)?

No, this site is not exclusive. Everyone is welcome. The more the merrier. Sounds like a troll to me. We do have a few of those from time to time. I know there are questions and answers from folks ranging in age from 15 to 90 something. A lot of folks have been on this site for a long time so we may seem like old friends, but that's a good thing. Hang around and become one.

Anyone is welcome on the Seniors site! So Welcome aboard. As to being accepted - ever heard of the 1st Amendment? The only exclusive thing about us is our age - 50+ but all of us do like to understand the younger people's view points. Also many of us are NOT "oh-so sensitive" so, no, that person was not accurate. I do not understand what you mean by "is this a group setting"? This is the INTERNET! On what planet do you live? No young people will be reported for posting on this site (again check your 1st Amendment); but we do respect each other and hope that you will do the same. No one is allowed to offend us or our "delicate sensibilities" - and if we do not agree with you, we have enough honesty on this site to let you know. So enjoy your visit! We look forward to hearing from and sharing with you! CJ

This is not an exclusive group. I will say that this is a very nice group, and for the most part everyone gets along well with newcomers. They welcomed me in some time ago, and they have all been so kind. I'm younger than most here, but they have treated me so well. You may also find out that things may not always be delicate around here! Plenty of laughs and not always sensible!

Sounds like you've already formed an opinion based on this person's e-mail. I don't think you're going to find anyone here that considers this group exclusive. The right word would be close knit, meaning that we've really gotten to know and care about each other....no matter what our differences are. And no one here is overly sensitive, but they WILL react to rudeness and intolerance. The site may be Seniors, but there are all ages here and we enjoy hearing different thoughts and opinions.....that's what this whole thing is all about, isn't it?! We don't report simply because someone is young or has a different view. (A different view just might make us see things in a different light.) In fact, most of the reporting is done by outsiders and many of us don't report at all.

Don't make any assumptions about us, and we won't about you. By the way, I'm not officially a Senior yet...but for wisdom, humor, compassion, curiosity, honesty, humility...whatever!...this is where I know I'm going to find it.

Some of them are serious about their questions or are just funny and I can relate to them. But some of them need to have a lot more respect for the elderly and not be so rude and crude. I know a lot of these questions get put into the Senior Citizens category by Yahoo and the kids don't realize the mistake. So I try to answer their question if I can.

Seniors isn't an exclusive group - I don't know how anyone could describe it that way. We don't know each other at all - its not as if this a chat room . Seniors consists of people of all ages, from all over the world, who just like to ask and answer questions. If someone was rude enough to email you with that message, they are kidding themselves. I'm sorry if you were upset by that experience - we're not all like that at all. Do stick around if you want to - honestly, Seniors is much nicer than a lot of YA sites !

Unless you are a troll in disguise, you and anyone else is
welcome. We are sensitive to some things of course. We
don't like ranting, and we don't like potty humor, and we also
don't like crude or rudeness. So that's all we ask of anyone.
Even seniors LOL. We're easy to get along with so join in
with a challenging question or something to make us wake up
and think. You may just catch one of us napping at their key-
board, so we need some younguns' to drop in and wake us
up, now and then :) So come on in. And relax. Have a sip of
something warm, or cold, etc. we're here waiting to hear what you have to say. Or ask, or answer away. It's the Christmas season, where are you going to spend your Christmas this
year? Or do you celebrate it? Maybe you celebrate Chan-
ukuh instead? Or Quansa? Sorry, don't know how it's
spelled or pronounced.
Don't know who your enemies are, but no one from this category would have sent you anything.
We're not an exclusive group. But we do have adult comments and answers unlike a few categories I could
mention.
Anyway, you're welcome. Come on in, stranger! Guaran-
teed, you won't be a stranger for long :0.

There are a lot of people that post here and are not seniors,so I can't understand why someone who say such a thing. There are a lot of questions that anyone could answer here but insulting others isn't acceptable. You don't have anything to worry about being accepted as this site is run by yahoo, not the seniors or anyone who claims to speak for us.

I am sorry to hear that. There are a few who stick closely together, but you find that anywhere.

Don't let it concern you. We all just need to know you and I personally accept all people on this site.

I don't know who reports people on here, but almost all of us have been reported at least once for something. In my opinion, it is never one of the senior citizens. We usually don't even give anyone a bad answer.

Welcome, friend.

The first person to tell their story always SEEMS right.
Never make a conclusion without hearing both sides. I suggest you look at the post for the last seven days to see just how kind, loving, hospitable and flexible the residents of this site are. That's why people of all ages stay.

Your friend was not accurate. We don't shun anyone nor reject the questioners. Just stay awhile and you'll see for yourself without asking anyone.
Blessings Juju
