Plastic surgery is absolutely necessary to repair scars resulting from accidents which disfigure a person. Bringing a victim's face and figure back to normal requires great skills and serves a purpose of restoring confidence . The vanity side of plastic surgery is beyond my comprehension. Unless it is to correct a birth defect ( not a heredity fat lip or crooked nose) the surgery should be limited. However, there is big money involved and there will never be restrictions placed on the practice.

Yes, it's ok if you need one. It's good for people that because of some physical problem have a low self esteem.

You know, people there IS a difference between "plastic surgery" and aesthetic or cosmetic surgery!!!!!

I wonder what the people here who say it's a waste of money or it's unnecessary would do if they lost their nose in an accident!!!!!!

On the other hand, what's wrong with trying to look nice???

I think plastic surgery is a wonderful thing that can be taken out of proportion sometimes. Plastic surgery can benefit accident victims and help slightly raise someone's self esteem. It can also feed an addiction to live up to an unrealistic standard. It can go both ways.

If there is something bothering the person and they know there is a way to fix it and they can afford it I don't see why not?
And if I ever feel like changing something on my face or on my body will make me happier I'll go for it :)) I'm glad I don't need it now, but I'm sure I wouldn't mind it in 20 years from now...lol

I am 30 and plan on doing whatever work is necessary to fight the aging process. I am good about the sun, eating right and exercising, but I am not against having things lifted and tightened. Hopefully not anytime soon, but you never know.

Why should I have to admit it? There is nothing wrong with cosmetic surgery. I should be able to look as young as I feel and if that requires a pull, lift, tuck it's none of your business.
