I have been following DC Comics Sinestro Corps and I think it is a great story arc. In several issues, Superman Prime seems so powerful as to be able to fight off scores of superheroes. Why is that? It seems more powerful than the adult Superman and Power Girl.

the comments so far are correct, but the other reason is his mentality. as you know he's pretty much insane and ruthless, he isn't holding back like the kind superman, he has no problem unleashing the real strength that they both share, as the kind superman values life most of the time, prime superman does not

Sounds like you are referring to Superman of 20 years ago. He was one of a few from different dimensions. The Superman of Earth One or Superman Prime had almost unlimited power. Could push planets out of orbit etc. That ended with the crisis on infinite earths series which took a whole year to tell and EVERY DC comic title was involved.

He was using a suit that converted yellow sunlight into blue sunlight.Thus, for a limited time, superBOY prime was stronger.
